Gender research

Sex- and gender related differences exist in the development, progression and response to therapy in inflammatory rheumatic diseases. We have presented a summary of the evidence to date in a review article for internal medicine and in a CME training article.
In cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Commission of the German Society for Rheumatology and Immunology (DGRh) e.V., we are further expanding gender research in rheumatology in order to identify differences not only in care, but also in the response to therapy and in the safety of antirheumatic drugs.
