Prizes and Honours at the Congress of the German Society for Rheumatology
The 50th Congress of the German Society of Rheumatology (DGRh) took place this year in Berlin from August 31 to September 3, 2022. 2760 participants came to the anniversary congress at the Estrel Congress Center. The DRFZ was involved in the congress in many ways, not only because of the venue.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Krause, Head of the Department of Rheumatology, Clinical Immunology and Osteology and Medical Director of the Clinic for Internal Medicine at Immanuel Hospital Berlin was President of the German Society for Rheumatology, DGRh and a member of the DRFZ Board of Trustees. Prof. Dr. Kirsten Minden, Head of the Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology Group at the DRFZ was the Congress President of the Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology (GKJR).
Honorary membership of the DGRh for Andreas Radbruch (DRFZ) and Gerd. R. Burmester (Charité)
Prof. Dr. Andreas Radbruch, Director of the DRFZ, and Prof. Dr. Gerd-Rüdiger Burmester, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, were awarded with the honorary membership of the DGRh during the congress opening. Honorary membership is awarded to members of the DGRh for “their exceptional and exemplary commitment to the DGRh and rheumatology”. The laudatio for Andreas Radbruch was held by Prof. Elisabeth Märker-Hermann, President of the Board of Trustees of the DRFZ.
Jubilee Science Award of the DGRh for Yvette Meißner
Yvette Meißner from the Group Pharmacoepidemiology received the Jubilee Science Award. The committee awarded the poster presented at the congress “Risk of cardiovascular events under Janus kinase inhibitors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis in routine care: Observational data from the German RABBIT registry”. The prize explicitly honoured the many years of continuous work of the German biologics registry RABBIT and its findings from the long-term observation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in routine care.
The DGRh Science Prize is awarded to the best poster presentations. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the DGRH Congress, the junilee prize was awarded with 2000 euros this year.
Research Award of the GKJR for Florian Milatz
Florian Mielatz from the DRFZ Group Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology received the Research Award of the Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology (GKJR) for the contribution “Objective recording of physical activity and sedentary behaviour in adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) – First results from ActiMON” (activity monitoring in adolescents and young adults with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases).
The ActiMON study is a sub-project of the research network TARISMA. TARISMA is funded by the BMBF, with the DRFZ leading a total of 4 out of 6 sub-projects.
